Support Services has outlined a process for students seeking accommodations. The student is responsible for meeting all of the following guidelines:

First Phase, Student Must:

  1. Self disclose with Support Services if student requires equal access to classroom environment.
  2. Meet with Director or Coordinator to discuss accommodations and documentation needed to be submitted by student.
  3. Director or Coordinator will review submitted information. Student will need to follow up with Support Services Office within two(2) days of submission of documentation to follow up with accommodation request.

Second Phase, Student Must, upon registering each semester:

  1. Follow up with Support Services and provide a copy of his/her schedule with names of instructors for registered courses. Student will be informed of approved accommodations.
  2. Obtain a "Request for Course Accommodations" letter for each class for which an accommodation has been requested.

Third Phase, Student will:

  1. Meet individually with each class instructor to discuss the accommodations approved by Support Services.
  2. Have the instructor sign and keep white copy of the "letter".
  3. Return the pink copy of the "letter" once it has been signed by the instructor to Support Services so that Support Services is aware the instructors have been officially informed of the need for accommodations.
  4. Keep "yellow" copy of letter for his/her records and inform Support Services of any changes or concerns regarding accommodations in classroom.

Accommodations do not transfer from semester to semester. Student is responsible for requesting accommodations in a timely manner prior to each semester enrolled.

Questions and concerns regarding an instructor's implementation of an accommodation(s) or if needed accommodation(s) are not provided, should be directed to Support Services staff immediately.

Support Services works closely with Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) clients who are attending TSTC to reach their educational objectives. Financial assistance available through these agencies may include:
