Congratulations on your decision to pursue higher education on your way to achieving your ultimate career goal. Statistics show that 89% of jobs available in Texas require a post-secondary education. In fact, the U. S. Department of Education estimates that about 80% of the fastest-growing job categories in the near future will require some post-secondary training, but not a bachelor’s degree. Regardless of whether you want a fast-track to an exciting technical career, just your academic core, or a full two-year academic degree on the way to a bachelor’s degree, TSTC Harlingen can meet all of your educational needs .

The friendly staff in the Student Development Division is here to assist you from the application process through job placement or transfer to a four-year university. Not sure about a career choice? We have academic advisors to help you explore career areas that best fit your interests, skills and work values. We also provide critical thinking workshops, leadership programs, and student organizations that help you gain confidence and build strong interpersonal skills. Social events and intramural sports competitions are planned to help you meet new friends and just plain have fun while you are here! And when it’s time to graduate or transfer on to a university, faculty advisors and job placement staff are ready to help you through the transition.
