COLLEGE DECISION

The purpose of this decision is to establish procedures and assign responsibility for handling of bomb threats on Texas State Technical College Harlingen property.

PROCEDURE

Upon receipt of a bomb threat, the person receiving the call should immediatelynotify the TSTC Police and then the TSTC Program Chair or a designated departmentalsupervisor. A checklist is available to assist in obtaining helpful information.The TSTC Police communications operator will immediately dispatch officersto the location of the reported threat to perform a cursorysearch of the premises and assume responsibility for handling the threat.

Should a search require a substantial disruption of normal activities, the Chief of Police will notify the Vice President for Administrative Services or designee. The TSTC Police will coordinate the dissemination of necessary information with the Texas State Technical College Harlingen Public Information Office.
