  1. Principal Investigator
    1. Identifies granting source or potential grant
    2. Reviews and decides whether to pursue potential grant
    3. Presents concept to Program Chair or Supervisor and appropriate Vice President
  2. Program Chair or Supervisor and Vice President 
    1. Review grant purpose
    2. Decide whether to pursue possible grant award
    3. Recommend for grant approval at required institutional levels
  3. Principal Investigator
    1. Prepares written concept or abstract of grant for presentation and request approval from Grants Committee
  4. Grants Committee
    1. Verifies the conformity of grant request with the mission, goals and function of the College
    2. Responds in writing of grant approval or disapproval
    3. Identifies Grants Coordinator (on a grant by grant basis)
  5. Grant Coordinator
    1. Notifies Principal Investigator of Grant Committee's recommendation
      1. If disapproved
        1. Grant proposal dissolves
      2. If approved
        1. Grant Coordinator meets with Principal Investigator to discuss formal grant proposal
        2. Principal Investigator prepares formal Grant Proposal Package with assistance from Grants Coordinator
  6. Grant proposal reviewed by
    1. Business Office Supervisor-Grants & Contracts
      1. Budget
      2. Fringe Benefit requirements
      3. Matching funds or in-kind requirements
      4. Reporting Requirements
    2. Institutional Effectiveness
      1. Context
    3. Final Review by Vice President of Instruction
  7. Grant Proposal presented to President for approval and signature
  8. Submit Grant Proposal to funding agency
  9. Funding Agency
    1. Notifies College of approval or disapproval
      1. If disapproved
        1. Grant proposal dissolved
      2. If approved
        1. College decides to accept or reject grant
  10. If Grant is accepted, required signatures are obtained from the President and/or other authorized person
  11. Grant accepted - Notify Business Office Supervisor-Grants & Contracts
    1. Business Office will -
      1. Set up account number
      2. Set up budget
      3. Request for grant advancement if appropriate
      4. Establish reimbursement procedure if appropriate
  12. Original grant award letter goes to President's office
    1. Copies of grant award letter to -
      1. Principal Investigator
      2. Appropriate Vice President
      3. Business Office
  13. Grant reporting requirements go to Vice President of Instruction
    1. Copy of compliance reporting requirements go to Principal Investigator
    2. Copy of fiscal reporting requirements go to Business Office Supervisor-Grants & Contracts
