CARE ORGANIZATIONS I
COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION:
Preparation for entry-level Nursing Assistants to achieve a
level of knowledge, skills and abilities essential to provide basic care to
resident of long term care facilities. Topics include: residents=
rights, communication, safety, observing, reporting, and assisting resident in
maintaining basic comfort and safety. Emphasis on effective interaction with
members of the health care team.

NURA 1307 are prerequisites to NURA 1360 and NURA 1370.

Class participation in this course is

Students must maintain class participation in all daily assignments, class
discussions, unit tests, lecture and laboratory quizzes, class projects and
all other assignments. This in accordance to TSTC and TDHS Guidelines.

from the course if the student is unable to meet the class participation
standards. This withdrawal process will no longer be initiated by the
instructors.
Students must take charge of being in constant contact with
the instructors to understand what his class participation status is at
anytime during the term. Students wishing to withdraw must file a
A Student Change Form@
with the Admissions Office.
Pop Quizzes will be given at the discretion of the instructor.
Quizzes will not be made up. If a quiz was given and the
student was absent, the student will receive a
A 0" for the quiz.
Tests will not be made up, the next test grade will count X 2.
Labs may only be made up in extreme cases, i.e.: with a doctor=
s excuse only.
Final Exams will not be made up. A
A 0" - zero will be given for missed
exams.
