Where is electricity used?

In business and industry:
Today's industry could not exist without electricity. Electric motors are used to run pumps, drills, lathes, milling machines, and other tools. Automated machines mass produce parts for products that are assembled on electrically operated conveyor belts. Electricity runs elevators and moving stairs in stores and office buildings. Electric signs are used to advertise products and businesses.

In the home:
The house needs to be wired correctly to carry electricity. Some electric appliances used in your home include: Electric irons, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, vacuum cleaners, electric stoves, microwave ovens, toasters, and food mixers.
