Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Mathematics/Physics Department is to support and enhance the college's technical education mission; to provide Texas industry with employees who perform well at the entry level by virtue of their competence in mathematical manipulations and problem-solving techniques using principles of physics and mathematics; to prepare graduates for advancement in the workplace through the acquisition of superior science and mathematics-based problem-solving skill; and to facilitate progress toward successful completion of further educational goals and/or lifelong learning experiences.

Process for Receiving Information and Filing Complaints
The Mathematics/Physics Department will respond promptly to all complaints. Suggestions or complaints may be received in person, by telephone, by e-mail, or in writing to the TSTC Harlingen customer relations representative. All suggestions or complaints will be acknowledged and reviewed. Resolution will be completed within one week.
