  • MATH 1314 - College Algebra

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Study of quadratics; polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and exponential functions; systems of equations; progressions; sequences and series; and matrices and determinants. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in DMTH 0200 or MATH placement test equivalent.

    MATH 1316 - Plane Trigonometry

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION
    : Trigonometric functions, identities, equations, and applications. Prerequisite: MATH 1314.

    MATH 1332 - Contemporary Mathematics I 

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION: Topics may include introductory treatments of sets, logic, number systems, number theory, relations, functions, probability and statistics. Appropriate applications are included. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in DMTH 0200 or Math placemente test equivalent.

    MATH 1350 - Fundamental of Mathematics I 

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION: Concepts of sets, functions, numeration systems, number theory, and properties of the natural numbers, integers, rational, and real number systems with an emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in DMTH 0200 or Math placement test equivalent.

    MATH 1351 - Fundamental of Mathematics II

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION: Concepts of geometry, probability, and statistics, as well as applications of the algebraic properties of real numbers to concepts of measurement with an emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking. This course is designed specifically for students who seek middle grade (4 through 8) teacher certification. Prerequisite: MATH 1350.

    MATH 2312 - Pre-Calculus

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Applications of algebra and trigonometry to the study of elementary functions and their graphs including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, may include topics from analytical geometry. Prerequisite: MATH 1314.

    MATH 2318 - Linear Algebra

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Finite dimensional vector spaces, linear transformations and matrices, quadratic forms, and eigen values and eigen vectors. Prerequisite: MATH 1314.

    MATH 2320 - Differential Equations

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Solutions of ordinary differential equations and applications. Prerequisite: MATH 2414.

    MATH 2342 - Elementary Statistical Methods

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTIONPresentation and interpretation of data, probability, sampling, correlation and regression, analysis of variance, and the use of statistical software.  Prerequisite:  MATH 1314.

    MATH 2413 - Calculus I

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Functions, limits, continuity, the derivative with applications and integration of polynomials. Prerequisite: MATH 2312.

    MATH 2414 - Calculus II

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION :Derivatives and integration of transcendental functions, integration methods and applications, infinite sequences and series. Prerequisite: MATH 2413.

    MATH 2415 - Calculus III 

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : The study of vector analysis, partial differentiation, and multiple integration. Prerequisite: MATH 2414.

  • Workforce Education Mathematics

    TECM 1301 - Industrial Mathematics

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Fundamentals of math applicable to industrial trades including fraction and decimal manipulation, measurement, scientific notation, percentage, and problem solving techniques for equations and ratio/proportion applications. Also includes instruction in the use of the scientific calculator.

    TECM 1303 - Technical Mathematics

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : A review of basic mathematics including whole numbers, fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, percents, ratios, and proportions. Converting to different units of measure (standard and/or metric)  and other topics as required by specific businesses and industries will be covered.

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Instruction in the fundamentals of business mathematics, including analytical and problem-solving skills for critical thinking in business applications.

  • Physics

    PHYS 1401 - College Physics I

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Algebra-level physics sequence, with laboratories, that includes study of mechanics, heat, waves, and sound. Focus will be on principles and applications of mechanics, wave motion, heat, and sound with emphasis on fundamental concepts, problem solving, notation and units. Prerequisite: MATH 1316. 

    PHYS 1402 - College - Physics II

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Algebra-level physics sequence, with laboratories, that includes study of electricity and magnetism, and modern physics. Focus will be on principles and application of electricity, magnetism, and optics with emphasis on fundamental concepts, problem solving, notation and units. Prerequisite: PHYS 1401.

    PHYS 2425 - University Physics I

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Calculus-level physics sequence, with laboratories, that includes study of mechanics, heat, and sound. Emphasis will be on study of mechanics, including vibrations and sound wave, heat and thermodynamics. Prerequisite: MATH 2413.

  • PHYS 2426 - University - Physics II

    COURSE (CATALOG) DESCRIPTION : Calculus-level physics sequence, with laboratories, that includes study of electricity and magnetism. Emphasis will be on study of electromagnetic theory and applications, electromagnetic waves, optics, solid state and modern physics. Prerequisite: PHYS 2425.
