Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Machining Technology Department is to provide and maintain a high-quality certificate and AAS level technical education program; to provide the Manufacturing Industries in Texas with highly-trained employees who perform exceptionally well at entry-level positions and are skillful in the use of sound principles, practices, and applications in a machine shop setting; to assist qualified graduates in obtaining initial employment as entry-level Machine Operators or Tool Makers and progress in their employment through satisfactory on-the-job performance.

The Machining Technology Department will provide support to students, faculty, and industry

  1. The Department will respond carefully to customer needs preferences and priorities.
  2. Customer feedback along with business results will be the basis for useful performance evaluation.
  3. The Department will provide valuable and technical excellence by maintaining a highly skilled and trained staff.
  4. The Department will provide technical expertise by helping to maintain other departments in the TSTC Community
