Code of Conduct

The Learning Resource Center provides a welcoming environment that promotes life long learning and assures an atmosphere conducive to research.  All  LRC users must conform to a standard of behavior that respects the use of the library facility, resources and the rights of all patrons.

Behavior and conduct that is not permitted includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Misuse of library facilities and resources:

Willfully and maliciously damaging, mutilating, stealing or removing library property, equipment or furniture.  Disregarding rules for special areas.

Disturbing or disruptive behavior:

Excessive noise, rowdiness, threatening or abusive language will not be tolerated.  Using cell phones in the library is STRICTLY prohibited.  Cell phone users can step out to the lobby or outside the Learning Resource Center.  Viewing sexually explicit materials is STRICTLY prohibited.

Action that creates an unhealthy or unpleasant environment:

Food or drinks are not allowed in the LRC except in the lobby outside of the gates.

Firearms, weapons and potentially hazardous materials are STRICTLY prohibited.

All LRC rules violations may be escalated to the Texas State Technical College police.
