:: Faculty and Staff Production Rooms
Faculty and Staff Production Room

  • Two offices equipped with the latest computer equipment for use by TSTC employees.  
  • Reservation can be placed by calling our office or by just walking in, if the rooms are available.
  • For more information about the use of production rooms, please contact our office at 364-4619.

:: Multimedia Presentation Services

  • Requests must originate from TSTC personnel.
  • Initial consultations typically require 30 minutes to 1 hour and are requested to be scheduled in advance.
  • The Instructional Media Center will strictly follow all of the Educational Fair Use Guidelines for Multimedia prepared by the Consortium Of College and University Media Centers, http://www.ccumc.org/  .  We reserve the right to refuse any requests that may involve copyright violation(s).
  • All instructional multimedia presentations developed by the Instructional Media Center personnel will be stored on external disks and housed in the digital archival storage area.
  • Faculty/Staff requesting copies of multimedia presentations produced for their classes must provide storage devices suited for the purpose of digital duplication.
  • Training on mobile multi-media equipment on carts is available upon request.

:: Audio/Video Production Services

  • Requests can only be originated and signed by TSTC personnel.
  • All requests are on a "first come-first served" basis.
  • Copyright laws prohibit us from duplicating audio, DVD's and video cassettes without written permission from the producer and/or distributor.
  • Faculty/staff requester must obtain verbal and/or written clearance in advance of guest videotaping requests.

:: Audio/Visual Equipment

  • Requests can only be originated and signed by TSTC personnel.
  • All requests are on a "first come-first served" basis.
  • Reservations, same day or advance, are required for all equipment.
  • Check-out periods are normally based on class time period.
  • Advance reservations, up to 1 semester, are allowable.
  • Media & Publications Services personnel will attempt to locate substitute equipment when scheduling conflicts arise or equipment malfunctions.
  • Students can pick up A/V equipment from the Instructional Media Center, only if signed and approved by a TSTC employee.
  • Training on A/V equipment available upon request.
  • Emergency support for equipment failure available upon request to the Instructional Media Center.

:: Electronic Repair

  • Electronic repair service requests must originate from TSTC personnel.
  • Repairs are only authorized for equipment belonging to Texas State Technical College Harlingen.
  • Instructional equipment is given first priority for repairs.
  • Requesters will be notified, in writing, if equipment cannot be repaired in-house.
  • Equipment that cannot be repaired, based on cost in comparison to age and usefulness, will be designated as salvage and the requester notified in writing.
  • Repairs are done on a "first come-first served" basis.
  • Area supervisor must approve any off-campus repair work for audio/visual equipment.

:: Video

  • Requests can only be originated and signed by TSTC personnel.
  • Observance of copyright protection is strictly enforced. We reserve the right to refuse any requests that may involve copyright violation(s).
  • Duplication requests for DVD's and videos must be submitted on an official form.
  • All requests are on a "first come-first served" basis.
  • Copyright clearance for duplication requests must come in the form of a letter from the producer or distributor of the work.
