College Housing Application Process

Individuals must be enrolled in a TSTC program of study or related academic coursework to be eligible to live in College Housing.  Students must be at least 18 years old to reside in College Housing.  Students under 18 years old must sign an individual approval waiver.  Occupancy of student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis without regard to the individual's sex, race, age, religion, handicap, or national origin.  A $100 deposit is required to be on the  housing assignment list.  The deposit is refundable if the student is unable to attend TSTC; it is the student's responsbility to notify the Housing Office.  Tenants may not move into dorms until they have paid rent and the $100 deposit on or before Open Registration day. 

Student Housing

Student housing at TSTC Harlingen consists of three designs: efficiency kitchenette dorms, micro-fridge dorms and shared apartments.  All dorms/apartments are fully furnished.  Students must provide linens and cooking utensils.  There are four students to a shared apartments, two to each bedroom.  In efficiency dorms two students are assigned to a unit.  Students are required to vacate the dorms fot semester breaks and holidays, unless they meet the required criteria.

Student Family Housing

A student may reside in family housing it they are full-time student that is  married and/or  has dependent children.  Students may apply for family housing by contacting the Housing Office and completing the required forms at least one semester in advanced.  All applications are placed on a waiting list based on a first-come, first-serve basis without regard to the individual's sex, race, age, religion, handicap or national origin.  Apartments are issued to qualified applicants when vacancies exist.  Qualified applicants are students who are enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credits) each semester.  A deposit  is not required for student family housing until the move-in date.  Proof of marriage is required for married students, and single parents must be accompanied by their dependent children.  Students will not be allowed to move into the dorms during the last month of a semester.  The dorms must be vacated as soon as the occupant ceases to be a TSTC student. 

Dorms
