Registration
Persons may apply Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Applicants will go through an interview, testing, and application process during this time.
All HEP applicants are required to take the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE). The TABE is the entrance exam administered for the High School Equivalency Program. The TABE addresses three components: Reading, Mathematics, and Language. As a part of the entrance requirements, applicants must score an average of 8.5 on the test. The entrance exam may be waived for prospective students with previous satisfactory GED scores. Dependent upon TABE scores, students not passing the exam will be referred to other local adult literacy sites better suited to their needs or will be provided with study packets and an opportunity to retest at a later date.
Should you know of any person who might qualify for HEP, please refer them to our program. HEP works with various organizations in an effort to better serve the community. Persons not qualifying for the program will be referred to other resources in the community.
Persons may contact the HEP Admissions Office at (956) 364-4505 or 364-4566 for more information or rescheduling of appointments. | |
