WELCOME
The Education & Training program offers a 69-Hour Associate of Applied Science degree and a 49-Hour Certificate of Completion which enable graduates to be placed in various educational positions within public and private schools. Five educational areas of emphasis are available, including studies in bilingual education, computer technology, general education, early childhood, and special needs education.
Department Purpose Statement
The ET program supports the mission of TSTC Harlingen by educating students in the technical educational courses necessary to complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree and/or a Certificate of Completion. The TSTC Harlingen Education & Training program fulfills the State Board for Educator Certification standards for the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001" by preparing students in a wide range of technical educational competencies and by providing a basic foundation in teaching methodologies for effective roles as educators and assistants within public or non-public schools.
Mission Statement
The Education and Training Program at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen is dedicated to training the most "Highly Qualified" educational personnel in the State of Texas.
