Admissions Requirements
Thank You for your interest in Emergency Medical Technology at Texas State Technical College.
The Emergency Medical Technology Program awards a Certificate of Completion / Associates Degree and enrolls students in the Fall semester. The program can be completed in 20 months by following the established curriculum. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the National Registry Examination in order to be eligible for certification / licensure through the Texas Department of Health.
The following procedures should be followed to complete your entrance requirements:
- Complete an application for admission to Texas State Technical College.
- Complete all financial aid requirements.
- Take the THEA (TASP) or CPT exam.
- Complete program physical examination and immunizations form (form obtained at EMT-Department)
- Have transportation to and from clinical and practicum sites.
- Schedule an interview with the Department advisor to explain program requirements and establish an educational plan. (bring THEA (TASP) scores, high school or college transcripts to the interview).
