PURPOSE STATEMENT
To provide for and meet the health care needs of the Rio Grande Valley, State, and Nation by educating students in a progressive eighteen months high quality dental laboratory program, and provide for the education needs of the students to enter the job market with an exceptional background of practical and theoretical knowledge for a satisfying career as a dental laboratory technician; and to provide the dental laboratory community with competent, self-confident, and knowledgeable employees.
CUSTOMER SERVICE PRINCIPLES
The Dental Laboratory Program will provide for the education of students, as our customers, who would like to be trained for the skills and taught the educational background necessary to be a dental laboratory technician. To accomplish this, the Dental Laboratory Program will adhere to the following principles.
- The program will respond carefully to student needs, preferences, and priorities.
- The Program will provide value and excellence by maintaining a highly qualified and trained faculty and staff.
- Customer feedback, along with employer feedback standards will be the basis of evaluations and will be the guidelines for continued improvements of the Program.
CUSTOMER SERVICE GOALS, OBJECTIVES, AND STANDARDS
To support and promote the practice of dental laboratory techniques while providing the most current information concerning dental materials, infection control, and dental laboratory procedures.
Be accountable and responsive to our students by:
- Providing scheduled advisement opportunities at least two times a semester and encourage unscheduled advisor appointments as needed by the student.
- Providing for each student effective and efficient scheduling of classes based on the individual requirements
PROCESS FOR RECEIVING INFORMATION AND FILING COMPLAINTS
The Dental Laboratory Program will respond promptly to all requests for information and all complaints. Any problems or conflict will be acknowledged, reviewed, and resolved using the following sequence. Resolution will first be sought through the instructor of the class, then the students advisor, the Dental Laboratory Program Chair, Division Director, the Vice President of Student Learning, the TSTC Customer Relations Representative, and finally, the President of TSTC.
