VCT Process

TSTC Harlingen offers online courses through the Virtual College of Texas. The Virtual College of Texas (VCT) is a collaborative of 50 community colleges and the Texas State Technical College System. Through VCT, students register at TSTC Harlingen to take online courses from other colleges throughout Texas. Online courses are TSTC Harlingen courses with the exception that the instructor resides at another college. Students register at TSTC, pay TSTC tuition and fees, attend class online, and upon successful completion receive college credit at TSTC.

• Contact your program advisor and discuss your schedule.

Registration Process

• Complete the application process at TSTC Harlingen
• Contact the TSTC Harlingen Department of Distance Learning at 364-4950 or come by Room 104 in the Science and Technology Building at TSTC Harlingen
• We will "Reserve" a virtual seat for you in the course of your choice and register you at TSTC Harlingen.

Payment

• Stop by the TSTC student receivables and/or the Financial Aid Office and pay your tuition

If you registered for an online course by phone, you must visit http://vct.org and print your course information, from the Catalog section. Course information sheets contain start and end dates, instructor information, textbook information and any other information specific to your course

First Day of Class

It is very important that you log in to your course(s) on the FIRST DAY of class and keep doing so EVERY DAY thereafter. If you have not made contact with your instructor via email by the FIRST DAY or if you are having trouble with your User Name/Password, contact the TSTC Harlingen Department of Distance Learning immediately at (956) 364-4950.
