Career OutlookDental Assistants are in demand here in the Rio Grande Valley and throughout the nation. Every dentist surveyed in the Rio Grande Valley hires dental assistants. As the population continues to grow in the Valley, there will be more dentists opening new practices, and existing dentists will see more patients. This makes the need for dental assistants critical, especially certified dental assistants. Upon satisfactory completion of the Dental Assistant Program, graduates are eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). Starting salaries for a dental assistant range from $14,440-$17,280 in the Valley and from $24,000-$32,000 out of the Valley. |
