The area of computer hardware and software technnology is constantly evolving.  Organizations are looking for computer support technicians that can assist in them in understanding and dealing with technological advances.  The Computer Systems Management Technology (CSMT) at Texas State Technical College Harlingen can assist you in becoming a computer support technician. We offer you lecture and hands-on assignmnets on equipment that uters found at many businesses; plus, our instructors maintain close connections with their colleagues in the industry.

You would have the opportunity to gain numerous computer and computer system mangagement skills that prepare you to analyze and troubleshoot computer and computer-related systems. Skills gained would assist you in  providing technical assistance, maintenance and support for computer hardware and software. Our graduates understand and conduct licensing renewals, recommendations for purchasing upgrades or new systems along with proper documentation procedures.  The opportunity to gain confidence through effective teamwork and workplace communication experience is provided throughout the courses in this degree plan.
