Other Testing Services
Accuplacer (CPT) Fee: $30 ($10 per section) Students who have not taken the THEA (TASP) test prior to enrollment will be required to take the Accuplacer Test during the admission process and prior to registration, or provide alternate test scores such as Compass and Asset. * 30 day waiting period to retest for same portion of the exam Ability to Benefit (ATB) Fee: $6 ATB is administered to students wishing to enroll in the College, but have not completed their high school diploma or GED. *After initial test, two-week waiting period to retest; further attempts require three-month waiting period College Level Examination Program (CLEP) - Appointment Required Fee: $15+$72 (Credit Card Required) CLEP is the most widely used credit-by-examination program today: 2,900 accredited colleges and universities grant credit for satisfactory scores on CLEP exams. CLEP credits will not be awarded for any courses in which a student is currently enrolled, has been previously enrolled, and/or earned a grade, or has previously failed. *Six-month waiting period to retest For more information logon the CLEP Website General Education Development (GED) - Appointment Required Fee: $95 ($15 Retest) (Non-Refundable) GED tests are a battery of five tests that, when passed, certify the taker has high school-level academic skills. Only individuals who have not earned a high school diploma may take the GED tests. *Six-month waiting period to retest For more information logon the GED website
KUDER – No Appointment Required Fee: $ FREE Are you confused on what you want to study? Kuder assessments’ is the answer for you. Kuder assessments allows students to learn about themselves ,explore various career options and discover how these options relate to their interests, skills, and work values. If you are interested in taking a KUDER assessment, please come to our Testing Center located at the Student Center room 127. Assessment is about 30 minutes long.
Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET)
Fee: $30 HOBET is an entrance test administered to students interested in enrolling in the Dental Hygiene and Surgical Technology programs. *One-year waiting period to retest Fee: $15 (to be paid at cashiers) +$25 (to be paid with Credit Card on the day of testing) TEAS is an entrance test administered to students interested in enrolling in the LVN program.
Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) Refer to the THEA Test Registration Bulletin, available at the THEA Web site for information regarding registration options and fee.
Proctoring Appointment Required Fee: $15 (to be paid at cashiers) Students who need a test proctored and are not enrolled at TSTC Harlingen need to reserve a seat by calling 956.364.4308 or email Rosalinda.Morales@harlingen.tstc.edu or Jessica.Cordova@harlingen.tstc.edu. Make sure to include your Full name, Name of College, Instructor Name with contact information, Subject, Telephone # and day and time you would like to test.
