A hands-on course designed for students with little or no computer experience. This course will introduce students to the basic operations of a computer including computer terminology, how computers work, how to operate a computer, how to use the mouse, and an overview of Windows based programs.  This is a prerequisite for any other computer course.  Book may be required

This course is an introduction to basic electronic spreadsheets skills using Microsoft Excel.  Topics will include: opening and closing Excel, exploring Excel menus, and utilizing Excel toolbars.  Basic spreadsheet formatting skills will also be taught including entering data and formulas, changing the appearance of the spreadsheet, previewing, saving, and printing spreadsheets, and utilizing workbooks and worksheets effectively.  Book may be required

Microsoft PowerPoint  

Course Code: ITSW 1037

In the past, paper-based overhead systems were used to deliver presenations, but now you can deliver them effectively in an electronic format using Microsft Office PowerPoint 2003.  Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to manipulate an existing powerpoint presentation, create a new presentation, format text slides, add tables, create a data chart, modify objects in a slide, add images, and prepare your presentation for delivery in front of an audience.
