Robert Sanchez forwarded to me a very interesting article which appeared in the newsletter of the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in Surgical Technology (ARC-ST). The author of the article, Joseph Long, discusses the effects of grade inflation on students, instructors, and future employers of our students. He notes that the only way we can counter the trend toward elevating students's grades is by utilizing national standardized tests.
