Individual Consultations

Faculty members may request individual consultations on issues related to the teaching and learning process. Consultations are viewed as confidential and neither the name of the faculty member nor the purpose of consultation will be released. Typical topics for consultation include advice about instructional strategies and techniques, analysis of classroom tests, literature searches on specific topics, and end-of-course survey reviews and analysis.

Classroom Observations

The CETL Director is available for classroom observations. The process
includes:

  • a meeting between the instructor and the CETL Director to discuss the feedback the instructor wishes and the goals of the class session,

  • a classroom visit on a date designated by the instructor, and

  • a confidential post-observation feedback session to review the observation and plan strategies for instructional enhancement.

This is a confidential service; however, if the faculty member chooses, he/she may use the written feedback as documentation during the Annual Evaluation process.
