Instructor Level Certification Course

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning offers a semester-long Instructor Level Certification Course (ILC) for all new full-time faculty. The objective of the ILC is to support instructors new to the campus as they make the transition to TSTC-Harlingen, to help them become accustomed to the procedures and practices that directly impact their faculty responsibilities, and to provide useful techniques for teaching and learning.

In addition to the weekly classes, the Instructor Level Certification Course incorporates a peer mentor component which is designed to assist and supplement the individualized development process for a new instructor.  The peer mentors teach in the same division as the new instructor but not necessarily in the same department, and each is recognized as an instructional leader within that division.
