Welcome

The Business/Office Technology Department encourages you to test your skills beyond the classroom as you pursue careers that make the traditional definition of a “secretary” seem ancient and inadequate.

Computerization dominates communication and recordkeeping in all modes of the business world. Efficiently utilizing the newer, high-speed information management systems require that you gain more technical expertise and the willingness to continually upgrade your skills. The evolution of these processes brings more complex issues to the profession, such as following privacy laws that protect clients’ data.

Our faculty is rich in experience and coordinates curriculum designed to give students valuable hands-on experience. The Associate of Applied Science degrees and Certificates of Completion available in the BOT Department prepare you for the administrative responsibilities of tackling the heavy workloads in modern business and law offices.

Many of our BOT students are members of the Business Professionals of America or the National Association of Legal Secretaries. These clubs conduct monthly meetings and organize events to benefit the community.

I cordially invite you and your family to tour our state-of-the-art instruction facilities and meet with our faculty and students. More details about the BOT program are available through my office and through the College Information Office.

Sincerely,

Jeanne Mercer
