Biomedical Engineering TechnologyThe BET field is mostly electronic in nature and deals with "hands-on" experience with a wide variety of sophisticated equipment. Because much of this equipment interface with the human body, this field is very diverse and crosses several disciplines. A person employed in this field is generally referred to as a BMET, which is a specially trained electronics technician specializing in medical applications. This technician’s training has an emphasis in technology that is utilized in the health care field. A BMET is directly responsible for the calibration, trouble-shooting, and repairing of a variety of sophisticated equipment. A BMET is employed within the health care field by hospitals, clinics, medical schools and equipment manufacturers. |
