TSTC Veterans Affairs (VA)
New: Effective April 1, 2008 all REAP participants attending school must verify their attendance each month in order to receive payment. You can do this online by clicking on "Verify your attendance" or by calling our automated verification line at 877-823-2378 (877 VA-ECERT). If you attended classes for the full month you cannot verify your attendance before the last calendar day of the month. If you attended classes for a partial month you can verify your attendance anytime after your enrollment ends. The following program descriptions are up-to-date, thumbnail descriptions. General and detailed descriptions of each program are online at http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/benefits.htm. NOTE: All students who feel they may be eligible for education benefits should submit an application. Even if someone appears ineligible, VA should review his or her application and officially deny or grant benefits. Type of VA Benefits:
All veterans applying or receiving veteran's educational assistance must apply and have a current financial aid application on file for continued certification of their courses effective Fall 2006 and ongoing. *** If you have drawn VA Educational Benefits at another institution:
*** You must complete classes that are part of your degree plan in order to get certified for these classes. You will not get paid for a class that is not part of your degree plan. If you change your program/major, you must notify the VA Representative ( in the Financial Aid Office) ASAP and fill out the proper forms to be recertified. *** Make sure that you make arrangements to pay for your classes ahead of time as it is your responsibility to pay for your classes.
