Culture Week Brings International Connections Three activities will be held in the Student Center Cafeteria from 11:30 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, February 21-23. Culture Week will start with awareness about Asia with free fried rice and egg roll samples February 21; students also are welcome to watch a tae kwon do demonstration and decorate fans. The celebration Wednesday will focus on Argentina; there will be samples of Argentine dessert, a tango dance performance and an opportunity to learn how to tango. Salsa and rumba dance performances reminiscent of Cuba will be held Thursday and students may wish to decorate their own maracas.

Dates and subjects include February 16, Citing Your Sources – Using Information; February 23, Evaluating Sources – What Is A Good Source? and March 9, Advanced Database Searching. All sessions will be held at 12 PM in the LRC Orientation Room; the public is welcome to attend.
Free Financial Aid Assistance Don’t panic if you missed Free Application for Federal Student Aid assistance on College Goal Sunday. New, prospective students and returning students could go online to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or phone the Financial Aid Office at TSTC, 956.364.4330, to receive free assistance in filling out FAFSA. Bring all 2011 tax documents for the student (if under age 24) and parents; plus, bring non-tax information related to child support, veteran’s benefits, current bank statements, and business or investment records.
Interested in becoming an Emergency Medical Technician? EMT is a TSTC Continuing Education Department approved training program that prepares and qualifies students to become EMT-Basic certified.Students wanting to register for the EMT class will need to start by signing up for our EMT orientation class on February 24, 2012. During this two-hour class we will cover the basic requirements for the EMT-B training program, discuss degree options, and answer any questions you may have on registering for the program.
